The European Space Agency (ESA) plans to develop a series of telescopes under its Space Situational Awareness (SSA) Program for detecting natural objects that can potentially impact Earth and cause damage. The first of these Near Earth Object (NEO) survey telescopes will be deployed in the Madonie Natural Park, atop of Monte Mufara, Sicily (I). The objective of this activity is to realise the infrastructure required for the installation and later operation of ESA's first NEO Survey Telescope.
