This activity concerns the pre-development in the form of a Payload Test Bed Demonstrator in order to provide an early Proof-of-Concept of the required advanced Payload System Architecture intended to be used for the Galileo Transition Satellites Programme. Theactivity envelopes the domains of Advanced Navigation Signal-in-Space Generation together with the aspects of Advanced RF High PowerAmplification and Antennas concepts, this in order to support the Industrial evolution development activities for the next generation of Navigation Satellites in Europe. The main objective of this activity aims to investigate in the earliest phase the criticalPayload System Architecture related aspect associated when evolving towards a more advanced Architecture beyond the currently one used. This shall include an associated technology risk and a roadmap to what is required for the presented Architecture, and its constituting elements, in terms of Flight qualification and Technology Readiness Level. The Proof-of-Concept shall be based on realising the Payload Test Bed Demonstrator Hardware, complemented with a mandatory extensive Verification and Validation Phase in order to gain to the maximum extend confidence in the presented Architecture. The built standard of the Payload Test Bed Demonstrator is aimed at Elegant Breadboard and/or Engineering Model level, where the level of maturity aimed for by the Candidates will be evaluatedas a criterion. The activity will be be subject to Open Competition for all economic operators Candidates in accordance to EU procurement rules when the economic operator also complies to the security aspects, PRS authorisation and participating conditions ofthis activity.
