Polish Project won an international contest titled “ActInSpace”
Polish project “ECODRIVING Techniques” won first place at the international hacking and space technology #ActInSpace organization with CNES, ESA and ESA BIC Sud France.
The authors of the winning project - Team Blue Divine I (Happy Fleet) qualified for the international finals after victories, first in the regional Polish installment #ActInSpaceWarsaw and then in the national finals in Krakow. The co-organizer and honorary patron of the two events was the Polish Space Agency. POLSA funded airline tickets to lead the winning team of the Polish edition of the competition for the final in Toulouse. The agency staff appeared in the role of experts and judges in Warsaw and Krakow’s hackathon.
#ActInSpace Hackathon is a 24 continuous design and prototyping of products, solutions and businesses that use space technology to use non-space. Challenges Project and descriptions of technologies prepared a joint European Space Agency (ESA) and the French Space Agency (CNES) and Airbus Defence & Space. The main organizer of the Warsaw edition was the company Kapitech, the regional edition of the Krakow - Kraków Technology Park. Final domestic, which took place in Krakow, was co-organized by both entities.
Professor Marek Moszyński, Vice President of the Science Polish Space Agency was a member of the jury during the national final in Krakow, and Dr. Marta Wachowicz, Director of the Department of Strategy and International Cooperation, was one of the experts supporting the participants of the Warsaw edition.
Hackathon international final was held on 28-29 June 2016, during the Toulouse Space Show. The winning team Blue And Divine (Happy Fleet) competed with representatives of 13 countries. Polish team proposed a solution aimed at logistics companies, which reduce fuel consumption by up to 30% per year with the use of space technology patented by CNES. The solution consists of a touch-feedback equipment placed on the gas pedal, computer software driving route, as well as optimum acceleration profile. The advantage of the system is also intuitive and easy to use by the user.
