Part of POLSA will be associated with the military in Warsaw. The agency also has a branch in Rzeszow. "I would say that in Warsaw and Gdansk will hold approx. 40 percent and the rest of the Agency, in Rzeszow "- he added.
Speaking about the potential of Polish in the space sector stressed that "Poland has quite a lot to say in the space sector, because it is on most of the missions carried out by the European Space Agency (ESA)." He acknowledged that "we would like even more, eg. To be managers experiments some of these missions. " He believes that "this is a task POLSA will slowly bring to (...), but it requires the participation of both the scientists and engineers, physicists and good cooperation with ESA."
Prof. Banaszkiewicz said that it is planned to send Polish engineers to ESA. Among the most important challenges of the Agency mentioned actions in the field of cooperation between science and industry and the national defense and security. "Therefore, POLSA should run some programs in the field of satellite solutions and radar, satellite telecommunications army needed" - he explained.
Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Economy and the representative of the Council of the Agency, Grazyna Henclewska assessed during the ceremony that with the establishment of POLSA Poland can actively participate in creating solutions in the technology space satellite. "We can build our own high-tech industry (...) we want our industry had its own competences in Europe"
Henclewska reported that the platform on which record entities that wish to apply and implement projects for the ESA registered approx. 220 entities from Polish. "This demonstrates the interest and readiness (...), we have a lot of examples initiated cooperation between science and industry in the area of the creation of these technologies," - she added.
She is convinced that "the Polish space sector will be one of the driving forces of modern economies and build competitive advantage of modern industry, which will contribute to the creation of modern jobs for highly qualified young people."
Mayor of Gdansk Pawel Adamowicz noted that citing Polish Space Agency headquarters in Gdansk parliament showed that the development of Polish cannot be concentrated only in Warsaw. "It is the future metropolitan city, Wroclaw, Katowice, Lodz and others will equip the offices, central agencies, and even move them, because it would be good for the development of Warsaw and the whole country, for the circulation of the elites" - he explained.
Prof. Andrew Stepnowski from Gdansk University of Technology (Faculty ETI) said that in the Pomeranian region is more than 20 companies operating strictly in the space sector, who have carried out or carry out several projects for the ESA. He pointed out that POLSA inspires and integrates research in this area in Pomerania.
Chairman of the Committee, Industry, Research and Energy of the European Parliament prof. Jerzy Buzek said during a press briefing that Poland belonging to the ESA and opening his own Agency reaches new possibilities. "This is a program Galileo (EU satellite navigation program - PAP), which will have a total of 30 satellites (...) and the program Copernicus (European Earth monitoring program - PAP), which is of paramount importance in every field of industry and research", “It is almost two billion euros for research related to the cosmos in the horizon of 2020; at the moment the EU is approx. 320 thousand people in space programs and a value approx. 50-60 billion, and so we also become part of this great European program, "- he added. "And that is why our participation in this has a tremendous sense, we enter the area of interest to other Member States and become close to what's going on," - he added.
Poland was the 20th Member State of ESA November 19, 2012. During the briefing prof. Banaszkiewicz said that the annual contribution to the Polish ESA is 30 million. The Law on Polish Space Agency entered into force on February 7 this year.
