On October 7, 2016, Professor Marek Banaszkiewicz was dismissed by the President of the Council of Ministers from the post of President of the POLSA. The Prime Minister entrusted the duties of the Agency's President to the Piotr Suszyński, the Vice-President for the Defence Affairs.

Professor Marek Banaszkiewicz was dismissed from the position of the Agency's President in connection with the failure of the Prime Minister to approve the POLSA reports for 2015, in accordance with the provisions of the Polish Space Agency Act.

Until the adjudication of the competition and the appointment of a new person to the post of PAK President, the President of the Council of Ministers entrusted the duties of the President of the Agency to the Colonel Piotr Suszyński, Vice-President of the POLSA for Defense Affairs. During the transitional period, the Agency will continue its ongoing activities and projects.
