The meeting of Polish entrepreneurs with representatives of the Canadian MDA company
On 12 of December 2017 at the Embassy of Canada in Warsaw, another meeting was held as part of the Polish-Canadian Space Cooperation Collaboration Days carried out by the Commercial Office of the Canadian Embassy in cooperation with the Polish Space Agency (POLSA). On the Polish side the meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of National Defense and 16 entities of the national space industry.
After a greeting by Nicolas Lepage, Commercial Advisor to the Canadian Embassy in Poland, Gurvinder Chohan, Director of Business Development of the MDA satellite department, discussed the areas of activity and technologies of the group related to Earth observation.
During the part of the meeting on industrial cooperation, representatives of Polish entities held talks with director Chohan regarding the possibilities and forms of cooperation with the Canadian corporation. The meeting was attended by representatives of such domestic entities as: ProGea 4D Ltd., Thales Alenia Space, Astri Polska, SYDERAL Polska Sp. z o.o., Space Kinetics, Blue Dot Solutions, Future Processing, GMV Innovating Solutions Sp. z o.o., Creotech Instruments, DES ART. Sp. z o.o., MC Posnania Consulting and Promotion, ITTI Sp. z o.o. and PZL Warszawa Okęcie.
MDA is the leading manufacturer of the satellites, ground infrastructure and other technological solutions exploited in Outer Space. The company has a longstanding experience of manufacturing SAR and optical Earth Observation satellites. It also designed the manipulator used at NASA shuttles “Canadarm”.
The meeting was the second event after the one organized on November 15, 2017 under the Polish-Canadian Space Cooperation Collaboration. At that time, 10 entities representing the Polish space sector held a talks with the representative of the Canadian company UrTheCast.
The organizers of the event agreed that cooperation within the framework of the developed formula of Polish-Canadian Cooperation Days of the Space Sector will be continued.
