On May 9th, 2018 at the headquarters of the Wroclaw Technology Park the seminar entitled „Incorporation of Polish enterprises into international space sector projects" took place. Nearly 50 representatives from 25 enterprises took part in the event. The Polish Space Agency provided participants with information on the possibilities of contribution to the ESA PLIIS program and cooperation with EUMETSAT.
The aim of the seminar was to present the possibilities of participation in the ESA programs and the initiatives of the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT). The event was addressed to industrial entities with the potential to execute projects for the European Space Agency and / or its subcontractors, as well as the EUMETSAT.
In the first part of the seminar, Izabela Greszta from POLSA regional office in Rzeszów discussed rules for applying to the Polish Industry Incentive Scheme Program (PLIIS) led by ESA, including important premises for the new PLIIS edition planned for 2018, which will be officially presented at the briefing for industry organized at the headquarters of the Ministry of Enterprise and Technology in Warsaw on May 15, 2018. In the following part, the benefits of participating in the program for industrial entities were summarized.
Presentation of Zbigniew Burdzy from the Department of Strategy and International Cooperation of PAK was devoted to possibilities of cooperation between Polish entities and EUMETSAT. The key information about the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites and the possibilities of participation of domestic enterprises in the programs led by EUMETSAT were presented. The speaker discussed tender rules, main premises and conditions for the participation of Polish entities in EUMETSAT tenders as well as activities and forms of support offered by the EUMETSAT National Focal Contact Point for industry operating in POLSA.
During the event, POLSA employees promoted a book by the Polish Space Agency entitled: "Polish space sector. Subject structure - Opportunities for development - Acquiring resources ", which covers basic principles of applying to the programs presented during the seminar and provides a compendium of knowledge about the national space sector.
During the second part of the seminar, the representative of the Industrial Development Agency (ARP), Michał Chwieduk, discussed the agency’s initiatives undertaken for the benefit of the space sector in Poland, with an emphasis on the ESA BIC entrepreneurship incubator in Poland.
The Polish Space Agency was a partner of the seminar organized by the Wroclaw Technology Park. POLSA regional office in Rzeszów was responsible for coordinating the cooperation.
