The cooperation agreement signed with the Rzeszów University of Technology
The agreement provides for, among others, the conduct of joint research and development in the field of space and satellite technologies and joint participation in the sectoral and regional programs in Europe. POLSA also intends to organize cooperation with the Rzeszów University of Technology regular information meetings - seminars, conferences, training - related to the space sector.
The agreement was signed on 4 March 2016. By the President of the Agency, Professor Mark Banaszkiewicz and Professor Mark Orkisz, rector of Rzeszow University of Technology during the Day of the Information Sector Space. The event organized at the Center for Teaching and Rzeszów University of Technology Conference was to present the possibilities of the Agency in support of Polish space sector and to present the fields of scientific activity Rzeszów University of Technology of space.
- “Signing of a cooperation agreement with the Polish Space Agency is an important event for the region and the city. Cooperation with POLSA allow the development work related to space technology and satellite” said prof. Marek Spelt, rector of the University of Rzeszow. – “We direction aerospace, so graduates who will be involved in the engineering space and satellite TV. Our students from this direction need to develop their passions and interests, among others, in scientific circles. The effects are visible, especially in the international arena, but also domestic. A spectacular example is the students who built the Mars rover Legendary III, who took first place in the contest University Rover Challenge played on the American desert in Utah.”
During the thematic block Polish Space Agency president Marek Banaszkiewicz presented the objectives and tasks of the Agency, with an emphasis on supporting the training of personnel for the growing Polish space sector.
-“Polish entrepreneurs complain about the lack of skilled workers who are recruited by foreign companies. We need more graduates from the fields related to space technologies and satellite, so it's important for the Agency to assist the university implementing such programs” - said Marek Banaszkiewicz. “At the same time we support Polish companies in their efforts to take part in space projects carried out among by ESA. Also, in order to well-educated graduates of our universities they have the opportunity to participate in a demanding, innovative projects carried out by Polish companies and institutions.”
Representatives of POLSA reminded about the benefits and opportunities associated with the Polish membership in the European Space Agency. Summed up the activities of the Agency also addressed to Polish entrepreneurs, including the two views of the program of advisory services, under which the Agency experts trained 6 local companies in order to facilitate them to take part in competitions organized by ESA.
Polish Space Agency is a government agency established by the Act of 26 September 2014. Participates in the implementation of the strategic objectives of Poland, supporting the use of satellite systems and the development of space technologies. The main tasks of the Agency relate to five areas: coordination of the activity of Polish space sector at national and international level, representing the Polish in dealings with international organizations of the space sector, in support of national research projects and business-related space technology, as well as activities for the wider use of satellite technology at work public administration and the growth potential of the country's defense. The ambition of the Agency is that in 2030 the Polish sector of space was selected areas fully competitive on a global scale and able to ensure the independence of Poland in the access and use of satellite data.
