This activity will establish and test links between existing Polish telescopes and a central authority through a regional deployment of the SST Expert Centre technology. Metrics to assess performances and costs shall be developed and applied. Starting from existing studies and prototypes, an automated scheduler shall be finalised, tested and validated in a network of passive and active optical sensors. Visibility limits and catalogue information will be considered by the scheduler. Coordination with the SST Core Software,as well as with standardised SST data formats, shall be ensured. Further, capabilities of very small and cost-efficient telescope designs, purely based on COTS, shall be assessed. The extension of Polish sensor networks through such means with the aim to achieve GEO coverage and minimal costs shall be analysed. A specific sensor design that supports this aim best shall be selected and detailed, also addressing installation and operation costs. The study may be supplemented with procuring and testing a prototype. The activity is co-funded through the SSA work plan and two activities from the Polish Industry Incentive Scheme (PLIIS).
