VICE PRESIDENT OF THE POLISH SPACE AGENCY DR. MICHAŁ WIERCIŃSKI

Dr. Michał Wierciński is responsible for collaborating with entities in the Polish space industry as well as for technological cooperation with international partners. He specifically oversees projects related to the development of rocket technologies and is also in charge of collaboration with the Ukrainian space sector.

Dr. Michał Wierciński is a graduate of the University of Warsaw and also studied at the National Defense University in Warsaw. He has been involved with the defense and space sectors since 2005, including work at the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces. From 2009, he managed research projects at the Ministry of National Defense (MON) funded by the European Defence Agency and NATO’s Science and Technology Organization. He was also a co-author of the Ministry’s strategy on defense research and technology.

Dr. Wierciński joined the Polish Space Agency (POLSA) in February 2022 as Vice President for Industry Cooperation. He is an experienced project manager, having led complex projects related to missile control technologies, the development of national capabilities in satellite imaging, and suborbital rockets.

Before joining POLSA, he spent 17 years in various roles within the defense and space sectors, including participation in Poland’s involvement in forming European Union battle groups. In 2015, he joined the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ S.A.) as Director of the Space and Satellite Technology Office. Additionally, he serves as an expert on the European Commission’s European Defence Fund for space projects.
